Your first visit to
Riverside United Methodist Church
We would be delighted for you
to join us in worship. The front of the church is on 6th
Avenue in Riverside (not to be confused with 6th Street in
downtown Columbia). Parking may be accessed from 6th Avenue
or 7th Avenue.
 If you enter the church by coming in the
front door, the sanctuary is located right in front of you
after you enter the double doors. There are steps up to the
front door and more steps up to the sanctuary.
There are two side doors. One
faces 6th Avenue. After you enter, the elevator that takes
you to the sanctuary is on your left. The kitchen and
Fellowship Hall are on your right. The educational wing is
straight ahead.
If you enter by the side door
that faces the parking lot, you will walk down a short hall.
Turn right and the elevator will be on your right. Across
from the elevator is the kitchen and Fellowship Hall. If you
turn left you will enter the educational wing.
The church grounds are ADA
Certified and fully handicapped accessible.
The nursery is located on the
ground floor of the educational wing close to the back door.
The nursery is staffed for both services and during Sunday
School.
During both services there is
a time when we “Pass the Peace.” This is a time when we get
up and greet each other and our guests. We encourage you to
sign our register (we all sign it, too). One is found in
each pew. If you wish you may give your address and phone
number on the register so that we may contact you.
If you attend the 8:30
service and then wish to stay for Sunday School, we would be
happy to help you find the classrooms. There are a variety
of classes to choose from for the adults. For the children
we have the Preschool and Kindergarten Class, First and
Second Grade Class, and Third, Fourth, and Fifth Grade
class. We also have the Middle School Class and the High
School Class.
